MyMenuify v2.2 by icefire

MyMenufiy is a CSM installer for Homebrew-enabled Wii consoles.

To use, create a csm file using MyMenu. For a step by step method of creating a .csm, see Installing Themes from MyScripts. Following that:

  • Place any csm in a folder called /csm/ on the root of your SD card. These include SoftMii-style themes (000000XX.app).
  • Rename the MyMenuify.dol to boot.dol
  • Place the boot.dol in /apps/MyMenuify on the root of your SD card.
  • Run the Homebrew Channel, and select MyMenuify.
  • Select your file with the D-Pad and press A to install.

And please make sure you know that this application touches the NAND and you use this at your own risk. Use preloader to protect your Wii on what may occur.

USB Loader GX v1.0 rev 434 released

Here's a nice version of Waninkoko's USB Loader. USB Loader GX is another mod of the said application that is a libwiigui based USB iso loader with a wii-like GUI where You can install Wii game "back ups" to your HDDs and boot them with shorter loading times. The interactive GUI is completely controllable with WiiMote, Classic Controller or GC Controller. Features are automatic widescreen detection, coverdownload, parental control, theme support and many more.

As any homebrew application, copy r434.dol (renamed as boot.dol) or r434.elf (if the r434.dol wont load since elf files loads better and rename it as boot.elf) to sd:apps/usbloader_gx/.

For all using cIOS38 rev 12, the HDD has to be in USB port 1 or it wont be detected.

A more stable ChickHEN! ChickHEN Mod from M0skit0

Walking across the net and stopping by at Dark-AleX.org forums, this has caught my attention. Quoted from M0skit0:

Well, now that CFW Enabler is available for TA88v3 mobos, it's becoming interesting to load the ChickHEN smoother.

Here's a slightly modified version that works almost at 100%, tested on PSP 2000. I don't guarantee any results on PSP 3000 (but this do not mean it will not work).

Please follow the instructions step by step (for Windows & Linux):
  1. Power on the PSP
  2. Connect to the PC via USB. Our OS should tell us it has been connected.
  3. Open the folder of the PSP and copy the download (see below) there (in the root of the MS)
  4. Decompress ChickHEN Mod.zip. Answwer "Yes" to all replacements.
  5. Now we do a safe extraction of the PSP and switch to PSP now (now tranquility please :D)
  6. Press O to cancel USB connection
  7. Go to Photos, down to Memory Stick and press X
  8. Wait for the egg image to load in the ChickHEN Mod square.
  9. When it's loaded press X (no need for timing here)
  10. DO NOTHING MORE, JUST WAIT

Download: ChickHEN Mod.zip

If it works, you'll se the green flashing and it will reboot on ChickHEN environment. Now it's time to run the CFW Enabler :D

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=14641

If it doesn't (that kind of things happen), just power on again and try from step 7. This time it will surely work! ;)

CFW Enabler DOES NOT UNBRICK CURSED MOBOS

Please indicate your PSP version in any comments, thanks!

Cheers and beware of what you do with cursed mobos if you don't wanna end up with a brick

DayViewer Beta 1 Released by total_noob

Go grab your PSP and look at the date/time in the upper right corner, now look at the screenshot… That’s right — thanks to Total_Noob — display the day of the week alongside the date and time. It’s that simple.

DayViewer Screenshot

To enable it, write ms0:/seplugins/dayviewer.prx on your VSH text document in your seplugins folder (if you have an existing one, add another entry on that document) then copy dayviewer.prx to the seplugins directory on your memory stick and enable it from the recovery menu.

CFW Enabler 1.0 for ChickHEN released by Xenogears and Becus25

CustomFirmware Enabler 1.0 has just been released on Dark-AleX.org forum, from Xenogears and Becus25.

With this little app, you will be able to enable some of the M33 CFW functions within a PSP Slim with 5.03 Original Firmware and ChickHEN R2 or superior.

And yes, it does works with TA-088v3. With this add-on, you'll have almost a M33 CFW, but the recovery and Pops Games. And yes, you can use your backups.

But no, it doesn't works with 3k models, yet.

How to use it?

1. Download it from the above link.
2. Copy CFWEnabler folder to your ms0:/PSP/GAME/ folder.
3. Once enabled ChickHEN within Photo directory, start the app called "CFW Loader for ChickHEN". First time, it will ask you to install the CFW modules on flash0 pressing circle, and then you will have to press "X" to start the modded CFW.

As well as ChickHEN, once you do a hard reboot, this CFW will be deleted so you will have to restart the process to have it again.

The way this works is the following: ChickHEN starts -> Soft reboot loading systemctrl.prx for homebrew -> M33 modules are flashed -> henctrl.prx is initiated -> Soft reboot loading M33 modules.

This way, as nothing is overwritten, the brick chances are minimum.

MPlayer CE v0.6 released

Mplayer CE is a fork of the Team Twiizers MPlayer port, combining elements of MPlayerWii and GeeXboX.

DVDX

To read DVDs, you will require DVDX. To read external drives at USB 2.0 speeds, you will also need the custom cIOS USB2 modified by the Mplayer_CE team, which can be found on the Mplayer_CE downloads page. DVDx must be installed to IOS 202 for cIOS USB2 to be properly detected. Unfortunately, the DVDx installer for system menu 3.4 does not have an advanced install allowing the user to chose IOS 202. The advanced installation is only available in the DVDx installer for system menu 3.2 and 3.3.

USB 2.0

You need to install the USB 2.0 cIOS from here.

If you have installed a previous version of the USB 2.0 cIOS you must use AnyTitle Deleter to remove it before installing.

In the installer, choose to install as IOS202 using IOS36.

You must then then install DVDx using advanced mode and selecting IOS202. Even if you don't plan on playing DVDs this is necessary for MPlayer CE to detect if the cIOS is installed.

Plug in your USB device before loading MPlayer, and it should be mounted. Some devices do not support hotplugging.

Users with system menu 3.4 or higher will not be able to use USB2.0 with MPlayerCE because the DVDx installer for this system does not have an advanced mode. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.

If you plan on updating make sure to install the cIOS and DVDx before updating.

Install

Copy the "mplayer_ce" folder into the "/apps" directory on your sd card and launch it via the HBC. Do not rename the folder.

v0.6
  • No more maximum cache limit
  • Introduced new variables into mplayer.conf to adjust screen size and position, please see mplayer.conf for details (component-fix is now deprecated)
  • idx/sub subtitle support (please note that these can take up to 30 seconds to load so please be patient)
  • Multiple folder locations added, it is now possible to have the files in
    • sd:/apps/mplayer_ce
    • sd:/mplayer
    • usb:/apps/mplayer_ce
    • usb:/mplayer
  • Added resume points - video will resume at last stopped point. To clear, delete resume_points file in your mplayer_ce folder. To seek to the beginning of the video hold 2 and press the minus button.
  • Added support for Hermes' cIOS. This has greater USB compatibility and enables USB LAN connector support. Please see wiki page for details
  • Added Fribidi library support for right-to-left languages
  • Made cache fill visible on screen
  • Many small bug fixes
  • Updated to latest MPlayer svn

WAD Manager v1.4 enhanced mod by Sorg

WAD manager is very useful with the Wii console but this enhanced version adds more goodness to it! Why? Here are the enhancements:
- Device selection combined with IOS selection for shorter startup.
- Bigger console window with 16 entries per page (instead 8)
- browse from root(/) folder (intead of /wad)
- "B" button returns to parent folder until root. On root - returns to device selection.
- remember/restore list position on enter/exit directory
- remember last used IOS when back to device selection (instead forced IOS249)
- added search for FAT partition among all 4 primaries. Original WAD Manager check only first partition.
- fixes for some minor bugs

AnyTitle Deleter MOD v5 by Red Squirrel

AnyTitle Deleter MOD is an unofficial mod by Red Squirrel of tona's AnyTitle Deleter. It keeps all original tona's AnyTitle Deleter functions but it allows the program to show the real names of titles instead of just ID numbers, making it easier to select which ones you actually want to delete.
-Changed the database reading function: now it reads the database.txt file only ONE time (at program beginning). In this way it will not be loaded every time you access to titles list pages (increasing program's time and space efficiency).
-Added a function to read title names directly from NAND: it will be used ONLY when the title name is not found in database.txt (to limit NAND access time). Titles names found in this way (accessing to NAND) will be displayed in the list between square brackets (ex. [GH: World Tour]). WARNING: It works at 100% with all titles based on games (those with Rxx codes) but not all others titles allow the identification of their name by reading from NAND, so there will be yet titles unknown!
-If program uses the NAND to extract title name, it will add the found name to database.txt. In this way the number of readings from the NAND will be always lower.
-Added a function to download database.txt updates directly from your Wii, using network connection!
-Now the program will identify by itself if to return to loader (HBC) or to the System Menu (rebooting console).
-Added a function to backup only UNKNOWN titles to SD (press B after pressing 1 to backup ONLY unknown titles!)
-Re-updated application button configuration: now HOME to exit, 1 to backup all titles list, 1 and then B to backup only UNKNOWN titles and 2 to update database.txt using network connection.
Here's the video of AnyTitle Deleter from tonatonari.

BootMii finally released under HackMii installer v0.1

It has finally arrived! Team Twiizers BootMii first beta release (public beta 1) may have some bugs but they promised that this is safe and stable for public consumption.☺

BootMii is a set of software that can be installed on Nintendo Wii© consoles to provide added functionality, safety and convenience.

BootMii is a piece of software that can be installed as an IOS or inserted into the boot process. As an IOS, it provides a fast way to back up your Wii's internal NAND flash memory, and will eventually form the basis of a new generation of homebrew applications for the Wii. Inserted into the boot process, BootMii provides you with a "safety net" -- you can back up your entire Wii to SD in under three minutes! If you were to brick your Wii, BootMii would still run and let you restore your backup from SD, quickly and painlessly. BootMii also allows you to directly boot the Homebrew channel or other homebrew from SD, bypassing the "warning screen" and the rest of the menu.

BootMii installation is a breeze, if you are already capable of running Homebrew. In any case we recommend launching the BootMii Installer through the Homebrew Channel if you are already capable of running homebrew.

People who don't have the Homebrew Channel on theirs wii yet can use either the Twilight Hack or BannerBomb to launch our newly designed installer. We won't be describing these methods in detail here, read the respective documentation yourself to figure out that part.

The new installer has been revamped a bit in comparison to our old installers, and is actually not just an installer for BootMii, but will also allow you to install The Homebrew Channel and DVDx. So if you don't have the Homebrew Channel or DVDx yet, you can use above mentioned exploits and our single all-in-one installer to install everything in one go.

After launching the installer, just follow the instructions on screen and you should be good to go within a minute or two.

If you are unsure what specific installation profiles/methods mean, make sure to clue yourself in by reading the About page.

HackMii installer also installs Homebrew Channel v1.0.2 and DVDX

New exploit found on PSP for version 5.50?

An exploit named as wololo/libtiff crash or exploit for firmware 5.50 hits the web today, wololo explains everything.
I saw today a buzz on various websites about a youtube video showing a tiff file crashing OFW 5.50, apparently a file created by me.

I am not directly related to this video.

I haven’t looked at the file yet, but it is possible that this is an OLD file I created a while ago and which has proven to be unexploitable beyond firmware 4.20. See here and here (note how old these posts are)

There is also a possibility that someone else found a crash and decided to use my name in the file for some reason, but I find this highly unlikely.

So my official statement right now is the following: Not a fake, not an exploit, just a crash

Netfront Internet Browser Beta 4 - HighMemyMod By P86 - ChickHEN/PSP-3000 Support By Team P86

You know, Sony limits our memory in Internet Browser. So we cannot play big flash games and open big web sites.
This mod removes this limitation. And you can use all of the memory that your PSP has.
If your PSP is Fat, the HighMemMod uses all of 32 MB RAM.
If your PSP is Slim, the HighMemMod uses all of 64 MB RAM!!!

That's very interesting, isn't it?

Now the browser loads your pages in very short seconds!
You can play your online flash games fast...

The program is beta so it may be buggy. If you see any problems, please reply this topic....

What's New
-Annoying prompt was removed.
-HEN support was added(Also PSP-3000 support)
-The theme was changed(EBOOT music, background etc...)
--We won't remove music etc. because they don't matter...
-It is more stable.
-Password Protected Version is added...

--About 5.03 HEN support--
On ChickHEN, HighMemMod always uses the same memory on all PSPs(32 MB). Because the extra RAM parts of Slim and Brite has been locked by Sony. HighMemMod would use all memory if M33 files was added to ChickHEN...

--About Password Protection--
Copy the ProtectedHtmlMax_Eng folder to PSP/GAME.
To use this feature, you should change your parental level to 10 or you should change it to OFF!
And you can add password to your browser for safety(XMB>Settings>Secur ity Settings)

--About VSH Plugin--
Copy vsh folder to your flash0 and Enjoy...

Bannerbomb by comex

Bombs away Nintendo with the new exploit coming from comex. If you updated your Wii and now your on version 4.0 and don't have any loader yet, worry no more. Bannerbomb will help you load files on your Wii under firmware version 4.0 and other lower versions. And also please help comex help us by contributing on his survey.
Compatible (in theory) with 3.x-4.0
  1. Get a SD card. If it has a private directory, rename it temporarily, e.g. to "privateold". Having other saved channels on the same card will screw it up.
  2. Download aad1f v102.zip (please follow the link below) and unzip it onto the SD card.
  3. Get a DOL or ELF and put it on the SD as /boot.dol or /boot.elf.
  4. Press (Wii), Data Management, Channels, SD. Then insert the card. It should either pop up Load /boot.dol? or freeze.
  5. If it pops up a dialog, then fill out the survey.
  6. If it freezes, follow these diagnostics:
  • Did you use the SD menu (4.0) or click Savedata instead of Channels? If so, then you're dumb
  • Otherwise, try a different version. The system menu is somewhat unpredictable; while most people should be able to use version i don't know yet, some might need another version.
For other versions please check it straight from the source

No plans for 5.50 M33 Firmware

Alek (site administrator of dark-alex.org) confirmed that 5.50 M33 will not developed. He stated that:
1. ChickHEN does NOT play ISO/PSX/similar files. So, if you want to play your backups, use your UMD’s instead.

2. So, ChickHEN does (now with R2) play homebrew, for every single model and mobo revision to date.

3. Want to see a Compatibility List? Click here

4. ChickHEN does NOT allow flash changes. Therefore, if you use any app that installs anything on flash0 (cfw, themes, whatever), you will end with a brick. And no, there is no (actual) solution to this for the 88v3/3k models.

5. You are getting problems loading the HEN? Be sure to have copied all the images onto PHOTO dir, and if you are can’t load it, shutdown completely the PSP, restart and try again. (Pressing X when the image icon has appeared, and wait)

And no… there are no plans for 5.50cfw or of any other way of making this ISO-capable.

Anyway, any other thing to take in consideration?

[Changelog]
- Now supports homebrew
- Homebrew Support enhanced
- Tiff image blocking in HEN (displays unsupported)

[What it does?]
ChickHEN works as a homebrew enabler for all PSP models (1000, 2000 and 3000) and allows execution of homebrew games and apps on 5.03 Official firmware. It can allow you to play games such as Bugz!, Jellycar or run apps such as pspfiler and PSPTube. Homebrew enhances the experience of a normal PSP without any faulty side-effects.

[What it does not do?]
- Run ISO, CSO or any other form of UMD backup.
- Run PSX Games
- Touch The Flash of your beloved PSP
- Magically allow the use of Custom Firmware (on TA-088v3 or PSP 3000)
- Load plugins

[How do I use it?]
Depending on your PSP Model, you're going to need a specific tiff image. If you have a Phat (1000) PSP, use the tiff image supplied in the "PHAT" folder and copy it to ms0:/PSP/PHOTO. Else copy the tiff image in the "SLIM" folder to ms0:/PSP/PHOTO. After you've copied the image to your PSP, you can copy the h.bin supplied to the root of the memorystick (ms0:/). This should be sufficient for PSP to reboot into ChickHEN.

[Can it break my PSP?]
ChickHEN works differently to all previous HEN's. Instead of flashing to flash0, it resides entirely in RAM to prevent any damage to the system. Sure enough, you can run applications in HEN to flash stuff but I strongly recommend against it. ChickHEN comes with no warrenty, no guanantee and you run this software under your own responsibility. Flashing onto your PSP WILL BRICK IT!!

As stated, HEN comes with no warrenty, and this software should not be used in conjunction with homebrew which can countervent any copyright laws.

and other information from sceners.org
Some considerations would be the fact that it doesn’t allows you to run any sort of UMD backups or PSX games, neither plugins; and it would be interesting that you NOT install any custom theme on them, or you will end up with a bricked PSP.

Giddy 3 v1.4 by Xeron

Giddy 3 is a great fun platform puzzle game. It was originally released in 2001 for MS-DOS, but last year I acquired the source code and converted it to C. This version is written specifically for the Wii.
If you like retro games like Mario then you'll surely love this one though it's more difficult. Enjoy and goodluck. Why did I say goodluck? Just play it. ☺

An emulator Running on a PSP 3000 model!

x-fusion.co.uk has released an image of gpSP (a Gameboy Advance emulator for PSP) running on a PSP 3000 model under HEN. As stated by Karl B. of QJ.net:
First things first: No, Davee hasn't finished the HEN yet. Which means it isn't out yet. What we do have today is some visual confirmation that the HEN can indeed run emulators, in this case the GBA emulator gpSP.

Yeah, it's just a pic, but it does show progress. Now let's all just keep waiting patiently and not hurry the man up, shall we? The scene as a whole has been doing a good job so far of being patient, so let's keep that up.
Let's be patient waiting for it. I'ts for all of us.

How to install plugins for PSP

Sometimes you get a readme you can’t understand or if haven’t read the readme.txt go do that now, it should solve your problems.

1. About .ZIP and .RAR files
2. Files you find after extracting the .rar or .zip
3. Actually installing the plugin
4. About .ZIP and .RAR files
5. Activating the plugins
6. Important info

About .ZIP and .RAR files
Now when you download a plugin or homebrew you’ll have this .zip or .rar file with all the files you need inside. Think of the .zip or .rar as the library and the files you need as all the books inside the library, you have to get in and then take out what you need.

Windows by default will be able to extract .zip files but download winRAR here:http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar380.exe

but I use 7zip myself so if you would like that go here: Download

Files you find after extracting the .rar or .zip
(here I’ll be using the word “plugin” instead of a real name for a plugin)

Plugin.prx - the .prx is the actual plugin itself, it’s what does the job

plugin_SRC - this is the source code, the stuff the developers use, sometimes they will want to make their work available to other developers who want to make changes so they include that too. Anything with “SRC” in the name generally means you won’t need it if you aren’t’ a developer.

readme.txt - this is your set of instructions, the most valuable file right next to the plugin itself. It should tell you what to do, what not to do and how to install it.

images - sometimes people will put in screenshots of their plugins in

Actually installing the plugin

First check your readme, it will be the best source of information about your plugin aside from the developers website.

Connect your PSP to your PC and activate USB mode. Either do this from the settings menu or turn on your PSP while holding the right trigger, this will put you into recovery mode. Pick “toggle USB.”
Although this basic looking screen might look scary to the people are newbies, don’t worry, it’s meant to look pretty basic and just follow the instructions.

Let “Drive X” referred to as “X” be your PSP.
Go to X:\seplugins if you do not have an seplugins folder, then make one.

Place your .prx file in X:\seplugins.

Create two notepad documents named “game.txt” and “vsh.txt” respectively.

In game.txt you write where the .prx is placed in other words, it’s directory if you want to plugin to work while you are playing a game.

An example:
Quote:
ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx 1
ms0:/seplugins/music.prx 1
ms0:/seplugins/RemoteJoyLite.prx 0
In game.txt you write where the .prx is placed in other words, it’s directory if you want to plugin to work while you are in the main menu called the “XMB” (cross media bar).

An example:
Quote:
ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 1
ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx 1
ms0:/seplugins/myBootLogo.prx 0
ms0:/seplugins/vshmenu.prx 0
ms0:/seplugins/RemoteJoyLite.prx 0
ms0:/seplugins/AutoStart.prx 0
ms0:/seplugins/hold.prx 1
ms0:/seplugins/wpchanger.prx 1
The numbers “1″ and “0″ mean “on” and “off” respectively so if there is “1″ next to the directory of the plugin it means that plugin is currently turned on.

Activating the plugins
There are two ways to do this:

Number 1
Enter recovery mode, go to “plugins” and it should look something like this:

plugin.prx [VSH] (Disabled)
plugin.prx [GAME] (Disabled)

if you have anything installed otherwise it will be empty.
Highlight the one you want and press X (X is what works in recovery mode)
this will toggle the plugin on or off.

Number 2
Activate USB mode and edit the vsh.txt and game.txt like in the examples above and then restart your PSP.

Important info
Some plugins will clash and your PSP may stop functioning, this is called a “semi-brick.” The semi means its easy to fix so don’t worry!

Go into recovery mode (remember turn on your PSP while holding the right trigger, coming out of sleep mode won’t work) activate USB mode and delete what you think might be wrong.

Sometimes plugins will clash and start screwing up, do the same for this and do what you do as you would for a semi brick.
